SafeIdea is built with privacy at its core. Our local-first architecture ensures your sensitive legal data never leaves your device. Only sanitized, masked queries ever reach cloud AI.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
We collect your email address, name, and firm information when you create an account.
Billing Information
Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. SafeIdea does not store credit card numbers.
Usage Data
We collect aggregate cost and request counts for billing purposes. We do not store what you asked or what the AI responded.
Content Data
SafeIdea's patent-pending masking technology automatically strips confidential content — client names, organization names, case numbers, and other identifying details — before any query reaches cloud AI. All documents, conversation history, and entity indexes remain on your machine.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and maintain our AI services. To authenticate and authorize access. To process billing. To provide customer support. To send important service updates.
3. Data Security
Our patent-pending confidentiality protection technology automatically masks confidential content before any data reaches cloud AI services. All communications with cloud services are encrypted via TLS 1.3. API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
4. Data Retention
We retain the minimum necessary information to validate your license and process billing. We do not store your conversations, documents, or AI interactions. All of that data lives on your machine.
5. Third-Party Services
We use Anthropic's Claude AI via its commercial API — not the consumer product. Under Anthropic's API terms, inputs are not used for model training, and data is not retained after processing. This is distinct from consumer Claude (claude.ai), where different terms apply. Only sanitized queries — with confidential content masked — reach Anthropic's servers. Payment processing is handled by Stripe.
